"I learned not only how to use tools, but how to care for them. Not only how to cut wood, but the inherent properties of different types of wood. And, how boats are made ... from the beginning."

Wooden boatbuilding at its finest

Quality education and craftsmanship

Did you know ... that we are the only traditional wooden boatbuilding school in the world to use and teach the distinctive methods developed in the early 1900's by Puget Sound shipwrights and master boatbuilders?

The method we teach is arguably one of the finest and most efficient forms of traditional boatbuilding, and our curriculum assures the historical preservation of these techniques.

Programs, courses and workshops

Through our school programs we offer a full-time vocational study program for those interested in the wooden boatbuilding industry and those wanting to boost their skills in the boatbuilding and woodworking career markets.

We also offer a wide selection of noncredit courses and workshops during evenings, weekends and throughout the summer.
