The most economical path to the acquisition of your dream vessel

Our top priority in choosing boatbuilding projects is the educational needs of our students. Preferred designs have been carefully selected to meet those needs while providing a broad selection of boats for sale.

In this system each major instructional program (Large Vessel, Small Boat, and Contemporary Wooden) has defined a number of boats that meet the mission of the school, the needs of our students, and the project time frame available. It is critical that students experience the entire spectrum of the building process from lofting to launch.

Our current preferred designs

Choosing to commission your boat from this list provides our students with the projects they need to learn the craft and you with the most economical path acquiring a wooden boat.

Custom commissions

We will also consider custom commissions. In this case an "estimate fee" will be charged. This fee varies with the scope of the project and will include a complete review of plans, detailed materials list with itemized pricing and our "build fee" to arrive at a project cost.
