Contemporary Wooden Boatbuilding program

The technology of modern wooden boat construction is employed by many yacht manufacturers and wooden boatbuilders who are melding the aesthetics of wood with the advantages of high-performance adhesives and sheathing materials.

The 9-month Contemporary Wooden Boatbuilding diploma program will prepare you for entry level employment in boatshops and vessel manufacturing utilizing laminating, strip-planking, cold-molding and other composite boatbuilding techniques.

Completion of the 12-month AOS degree program in Contemporary Wooden Boatbuilding will prepare you for intermediate to advanced level employment. The Yacht Interiors course will prepare you with skills that are in high demand throughout the boatbuilding industry.

9-month Diploma - 1260 clock hours; 75 quarter-credits

100 - Basic Skills for Boatbuilders (25 credits)
230 - Contemporary Wooden Boatbuilding, Part I (25 credits)
330 - Contemporary Wooden Boatbuilding, Part II (25 credits)

12-month AOS Degree - 1680 clock hours; 105 quarter-credits

All 9-month diploma courses (100, 230, 330)
Plus 430 - Yacht Interiors (25 credits)
General or applied general education credits
5 transfer credits required for any 12-month program
