Traditional Small Craft program

Graduates of the Small Craft diploma programs find entry level employment in many of the same industries as mentioned in Large Craft and Contemporary, and are also employed by maritime museums, historical societies, schools, and non-profit organizations that build, maintain and operate traditional small craft.

Completion of the 12-month AOS degree in Traditional Small Craft with the addition of 400 level courses will prepare you for intermediate to advanced level employment. Repair and restoration skills are sought after by boatyards and interior joinery skills apply to vessels of any size or hull material.

6-month Diploma - 840 clock hours; 50 quarter-credits

100 - Basic Skills for Boatbuilders (25 credits)
220 - Lapstrake Construction (25 credits)

9-month Diploma - 1260 clock hours; 75 quarter-credits

100 - Basic Skills for Boatbuilders (25 credits)
220 - Lapstrake Construction (25 credits)
320 - Small Boat Construction (25 credits)

12-month AOS Degree - 1680 clock hours; 105 quarter-credits

All 9-month diploma courses (100, 220, 320)
General or applied general education credits
5 transfer credits required for any 12-month program
Plus one of the following:
410 - Repair and Restoration (25 credits)
430 - Yacht Interiors (25 credits)
